Because of the surprise birthday party for my parents the kids got to have some unexpected fun with their cousins. I packed for the trip after Jacob and Emma went to school and then went to pick them up early. So it was a real surprise for them. They asked where we were going, so I asked them if they wanted to go see Lindsey and Olivia. They were thrilled to pieces. Whenever they all get together, it is as if they had never been apart. Emma was so excited to have a sleepover in the girls room. She insisted on sleeping in the middle.
In the morning they began playing and chatting from the get go. Breakfast and lunch were more of a pit stop and refueling and they were off for more fun. Lisa was great at feeding them ALL! I was otherwise occupied at the time. ;)
While the kids played and ate, Christy and I worked on birthday cakes for Mom and Dad. I was so glad that she and her daughter came with Darin for the weekend. She literally saved my life. She taught me how to make great flowers. I still need a lot of practice, but it's a good start.

While we were busy in the kitchen the kids were all upstairs creating a massive train village. It was pretty neat how they all fit together. Wes was very impressed and loved it.
It was such a fun weekend. Even though we had three days, it felt like it went too fast. The kids still ask when we can go back. I had so much fun. I really enjoyed playing and catching up with Jaime, Lisa, Darin, and Christy. It's hard being so far from family, but maybe that will make occasions like this special memories for my children. Until next time...!
I agree, the three days did go by fast. It was a lot of fun and I enjoyed visiting with you after kids were in bed. :) fun times
